Give something back
Give toys a
second life.
We accept donations of quality, complete toys in good condition, that are suitable for children from 0–14 years old. Have something you’d like to donate? Bring it into our main base in Swaythling Neighbourhood Centre. You have the opportunity to make a massive difference, whilst reducing clutter from unwanted toys and preventing perfectly usable toys from ending up in landfill.
Donating toys to our Southampton toy library helps us keep shelves full of educational toys, sensory toys, and play resources ready for local families.
Find usFinancial support
Every donation
keeps us going.
We receive very few monetary donations, which means we rely heavily on grants, that are increasingly coming under pressure from spending cuts. The cost of living has massively increased the number of people making use of our services, but this has also increased the workload for our limited number of staff and volunteers.
Donations allow us to:
- Hire more paid staff and increase staff hours
- Purchase new, quality toys requested by members
- Offer more playtime sessions every week
- Maintain our extensive offering of quality, educational toys
Your impact
Every donation helps support Community Playlink
Every donation helps protect Southampton’s free toy library for the families who rely on it.

Volunteer
with us.
As a small, local charity, volunteers are extremely important to keep Community Playlink running. Volunteering with Community Playlink is a hands-on way to support a Southampton children’s charity toy library and make a direct difference in your community.
Volunteering with us can also be a brilliant opportunity to get some work experience if you’re studying to work with children, or if you have to complete volunteering as part of a programme, like the Duke of Edinburgh award.
What can I help with?
- Helping with the toy library
- General office duties
- Checking and cleaning toys
- Cataloguing toys
- DIY, e.g. mending wooden toys
