About Jo
Since gaining my degree in Youth and Community Studies, I have spent more than 20 years working in a wide range of play settings supporting children and families.
My experience includes work in a pre-school, a playbus project, and SVS Family Projects supporting families living in temporary accommodation. I also worked for a refuge charity supporting women and their children escaping domestic violence, both in refuges and while helping to develop a children's outreach service.
Across these settings I planned and delivered play opportunities for children from babies to young teenagers. I was also Children and Family Worker at a busy community-based church for 12 years, where I set up and developed weekly children's clubs, monthly family events, and supported a thriving toddler group. That role also gave me valuable experience managing volunteer teams.
I am passionate about the importance of play and love helping Community Playlink create a setting that is fun, welcoming, and supportive for both children and their parents and carers.
