About Elaine
I spent over 20 years as a PCB designer for a computer company and, after having children, I volunteered at a local school alongside working.
In 2009 I decided to change my career and moved into childcare. I retrained as an Early Years Educator, completing the Cache L3 NVQ in Children's Care, Learning and Development in 2011. I then worked in a pre-school and a childcare nursery before becoming a childminder, which I did for seven years.
I have also been involved with the Scouting movement as a Beaver leader for the last 14 years, and as part of the Scouting District team overseeing all the Beaver colonies in our district for the last five years. During this time I have completed paediatric first aid and safeguarding training, which I keep updated annually.
Working for the Toy Library lets me bring my knowledge of how children develop in different ways, see things differently, and use toys differently to support their learning and development.
